Virtual nurses support bedside staff at University Hospitals

University Hospitals in Cleveland is trying something new: virtual nurses! Instead of always being right at the bedside, these nurses connect with patients via video calls from a different building.

They handle things like admissions paperwork, sharing info, and updating patients on procedures. The goal isn't to replace the nurses who are physically there, but to help them out with administrative tasks so they have more time for hands-on care.

UH plans to expand this to almost all their beds in the next few years, and other local hospitals like Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth, and Summa are also using similar virtual nursing programs to tackle the nursing shortage and make care better.

It's basically a way to give bedside nurses an "extra set of eyes and hands" and make sure patients feel more informed and cared for.

Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Documentation Nurse (CDI Nurse) to join our remote team. This position plays a critical role in improving the quality and completeness of clinical documentation to support accurate coding, quality measures, and regulatory compliance.

Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Auditor

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Auditor is responsible for completing quality assurance reviews of patient medical records to ensure accurate and complete documentation to reflect the patient’s severity and complexity of illness. The CDI Auditor will audit records previously reviewed by Customer CDS consultants. The chart will be reviewed for missed opportunities to capture greater specificity or clarify inconsistencies in the clinical picture of the patient.

Bilingual MH First Triage RN

The MH FIRST RN is pivotal in providing critical support to field teams facing urgent and complex patient concerns. The Registered Nurse has expertise that will ensure patients receive the care, resources, and support they need, especially during high-stress situations and environmental crises.
